Construction
Planked in two horizontal layers of Makore with overlapping seams, total thickness of 1 3/8″
Copper fastened to heavy oak frames of 2.5″ square at 3′ centres with 3 steamed oak intermediate timbers.
Heavy grown oak floors on each of the larger frames. Some galvanised strap floors in way of the mast step.
External lead ballast keel of 5 tons with iron keel bolts.
Sheathed plywood deck finished in grey deck paint on oak deck beams.
Low profile coachroof with mahogany coamings and sheathed plywood coachroof deck. Extends into a raised doghouse aft of varnished mahogany with bronze framed windows.
Lovely self draining cockpit with deep varnished mahogany coamings and varnished teak thwarts and bridge deck. Wheel steering with a Mathway steering system.
Rig
Masthead bermudan cutter rig on a keel stepped Proctor alloy mast. Twin spreaders with single standing backstay and removable inner forestay. Running backstays for when inner forestay is in use.
Slab reefing alloy boom
Stainless steel standing rigging to internal chain plates.
5 mast winches plus a pair of Lewmar 42 ST primary sheet winches and Lewmar secondary winches.
Mainsail, yankee, staysail and genoa in good condition, approximately 10 years old.
Machinery
37hp Nanni diesel 4150 HE installed new in 2004. Fresh water cooled.
Single lever controls with stainless shaft to a slightly offset fixed 3 blade bronze propeller. 6 knots cruising speed, 7 knots max. 3lt/hr consumption.
130 litre diesel tank
120l plastic water tank.
2 x 12 volt batteries for engine starting and domestics. Installed shore power system with a 240v charger.
1 electric and 1 manual bilge pump.
Accommodation
6 berths including 2 in the forepeak, 2 pilot berths in the saloon and 2 quarter berths.
Steps down into the Doghouse with a quarter berth down each side.
Galley to port and chart desk to starboard. Galley has a gimballed 2 burner gas stove with oven and grill. Single stainless sink with pressurised hot and cold water. Many storage lockers and ample work surface space.
Chart desk facing outboard with instruments situated above and a fold out stool.
Steps down into the lower level saloon with a settee each side and a large pilot berth either side under the side deck. Centreline dropleaf mahogany table.
Centreline door going forward into the heads compartment, with a manual sea toilet on the port side and hand basin to starboard. The whole compartment is lined out to make a shower room with a hot and cold pressurised shower.
Another centreline door going forward to the forecabin with a pair of V-berths and masses of storage space.
