Construction
Planked in 1″ mahogany all copper rivet fastened to 1.5″ square steam bent oak timbers at 9″ centres.
Sawn oak floors across the centreline with bronze throat bolts.
External lead ballast keel of 2 tons held with bronze keel bolts, last drawn and checked in 2016. Internal lead ballast of 1 ton.
Solid yacht laid teak deck, caulked and payed and screwed to the deck beams.
Varnished teak toe rail and capping rail. Stainless stanchions and guard wires all round.
Varnished teak coachroof coamings and cockpit coamings with a sheathed plywood coachroof deck.
Rig
Masthead bermudan sloop rig on a keel stepped alloy mast with a varnished spruce roller reefing boom. This is the original boom and has been converted to slab reefing.
Galvanised standing rigging, 15 years old, with bronze rigging screws to internal bronze chain plates.
Roller furling headsail.
Full suite of sails including new genoa, storm sails and downwind sails.
Machinery
Lister Petter 3cyl 30hp diesel installed new in 1985. Fresh water cooled that has been well maintained and serviced.
single lever controls to centreline 3 blade bronze propeller gives 5 knots cruising speed and 7 knots max. 750 mile range.
2 x 12 volt batteries in cockpit locker for engine starting and domestics. Charged from the engine alternator.
145 litres of diesel in 2 separate stainless tanks either side of the cockpit.
Accommodation
4 berths including double in the forward cabin and 2 saloon settee berths.
Steps down over the engine box into the saloon with aft facing chart desk to starboard and galley to port.
Galley has a Nelson 2 burner gimballed gas stove with oven and grill, single sink with pressurised hot and cold water from a calorifier and a large top access storage bin.
Chart desk is aft facing with a small seat and lifting surface to access storage beneath. Book shelves and navigation instruments by the chart desk.
Half height painted bulkheads with varnished teak trim separate off the main saloon with a good size settee berth either side and a dropleaf table offset to port.
Access passage going forward on the starboard side with the heads compartment to port and hanging locker to starboard under the side deck.
Heads has a manual sea toilet which discharges directly overboard and a hand basin with hot and cold running water.
The forward cabin has a large double berth set to port with a hatch above and the chain locker right in the bows.
